How can he want to study finance at university? How boring would that be? Where is the passion and excitement in that? (though, maybe there is….for her friend)

I don’t understand why they are going into fields where they have to study subjects they hate. To them, university is all about getting a good job and making lots of money.
Maybe our kids will end up poor, destitute, or worse yet, unfulfilled in their chosen work in this life. But I do believe they’ve got the picture on what we feel is important.
Follow your passion.

If they can continue to feel that way in the face of the many pressures in life to be the best/richest/most important/etc., I think they will have a wonderful life and a happy one. Good for them !!
