Suitcase packed.  Passport in hand.  A good book in my bag.

It’s always the same feeling.  Baggage checked in.  Boarding pass printed.  Through passport control.  A huge sigh of relief and then excitement as we walk the 5 steps from the final screening of our hand-luggage and through to the duty-free at the airport.

We’re on our way!

Folks here have told us Goa is not really “India”.  It was a Portuguese outpost so the influence of colonial rule can still be seen everywhere.  We’ve chosen Goa for this holiday destination as it’s close which means only one-short-flight-away.

Swaying palms, white sands and sparkling waters is the way it’s described in the first sentence of our travel book.

This time tomorrow, that’s exactly where you’ll find me!
