I thought I’d share two sights that made me laugh driving the streets of Doha this morning. 

Driving here is everyone’s worst nightmare so anything to make you laugh along the way is always appreciated. As you’ll see in the picture below, I think perhaps someone missed joining the lines properly?  

When I first drove by I couldn’t believe how poorly the pieces lined up.  I tired to take a quick couple of glances while driving past.  It looked as though the signage had already been ‘stuck on’ so to speak, but maybe that wasn’t the case.  On my return an hour or so later I noticed someone working on it.  On closer inspection I don’t even see all the correct letters to join the words so maybe they were just in the midst of hanging it.  Whatever the case, it certainly caught my attention first thing in the morning!  

I’ll be going past again tomorrow, so will have to see if they have it all sorted by then!

The second funny sight was a little closer to home.  As I drove into our compound I noticed someone had placed their garbage ever so nicely on top and beside their garbage can, rather than in it!  

First let me say that our compound has one of the best maintenance crews around.  They are a great bunch of guys and management here definitely keeps them busy.  Not only do two fellows collect our garbage every day, but once a month or so they wash the garbage cans for us.  When finished, my guess is they turn them upside down so they/we know it’s been done.  

  

Do you think someone was in a hurry and didn’t have time to turn the can over and place the garbage inside, or maybe they didn’t want to ‘mess up’ the newly cleaned garbage can?  I can’t say for sure but I had a good chuckle over it.
