Having made four separate trips to the Embassy sorting out visas needed for our holiday…. and with two more trips still needed next week….. I was thinking about how I would have needed 6 x 2 hours off work just to accomplish this one ‘simple’ task. That doesn’t include the dental and doctor’s appointments on Thursday, plus the eye check-ups, parent-teacher interviews…. all the usual stuff one has to deal with, particularly with kids!
I know there are many more, but at this moment in time I’ve decided there are three things I most definitely like about not working:
- Not having to ask for time off work to take care of personal/ family appointments, errands, tasks that need to be done.
- Not having to do errands, tasks, make appointments during ‘peak’ or busy times of the day.
- Not working.
So why did I apply for those jobs today………???
I think it’s just a phase I’m going through and once it starts to heat up outside and I’m stuck indoors, my attitude will probably change.
But in the meantime I’m going to enjoy the opportunity to be outside, the relative ease in which I can get things done and all the wonderful free time I have !!!!
I’ll just put my feet up now……
And “pay attention” to the joy of not working while it lasts !!
You’re quite right and I am doing just that…
